Hey guys and Happy Easter! Those who’ve lived with me before (my parents, Mikey and my best friend and roommate for four years, Anna) know that even more than Halloween (yes! believe it or not!) my most meaningful day of the year is Easter. Probably my favorite moment of the year is when I wake up on Easter and say to [insert current roommate, now Mikey, here], “He is risen!” and then they answer, “He is risen indeed!” There is so much meaning, so much hope, so much that hangs on the Truth of those words. I can’t wait to worship Jesus together with the body of Christ tomorrow!
May you find real hope and meaning for your life on a day filled with chocolate eggs and Easter bunnies – there is so much more to the story.
I discovered this lip balm called EOS from two friends and then the next day Mikey found it at a local drug store, London Drugs. I bought the pomegranate raspberry flavor and I’m loving it; I can see why it’s kind of a trendy thing out there – everybody seems to know about it! Have you ever tried this lip balm? I think my favorite part is that it’s shaped like an egg. 😉
Pizza & wine.
Yep! Both things we don’t have too often, but weekends certainly are a time for both of those things. Throw in a little side of “Survivor” and you’ve got one happy couple. 😉 This is a good example of the 80-20 rule (80% “clean” and 20% “everything else”) that I try to employ. No need to kick myself or worry about it – that doesn’t do my psyche any good! I enjoyed it and it just felt “right” on a weekend night, you know? 🙂
I love when the cleaning bug gets into me because…it doesn’t always get into me. 😉 Taking advantage of this unexpected fever, I did a quick once over of the house, got some groceries and finished things off with some tulips scattered about. Don’t those flowers just scream spring?!
After a sleep-in and morning around the house with Mikey, I took advantage of the good weather and got outside! This was my first long run in my Vibrams since last season and it felt great to run around the reservoir with my toe shoes and Zensah calf sleeves on. I got a lot of funny looks and even an “Those are some COOL socks!” from a woman on the path. Gotta love them!
This might not be a big deal to some of you 9-5 working folk, but any personal trainer or fitness professional will know that while wearing lululemon clothes all day sounds pretty posh, you totally forget how to dress yourself in real life clothes! My sense of style, although it was never incredible before, is almost non-existent now. 😉 Also, those lulu pants can be deceiving – they STRETCH. It’s only when you wear “real” clothes that you know how much your body has or hasn’t changed. 😉 So – Toms, a comfy dress, scarves, jeans…weekends are for non-workout clothes.
What are weekends for in your life? Do tell. 🙂 Happy Easter and enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends! Live well & be well,
