Saturday (post-[my first] post):
Sleep in. Make a fun breakfast. Digest slowly. Enjoy a great kettlebell workout (yes, enjoy!). *Finally* get dressed for the day. Head to the Calgary Farmer’s Market: wander, shop & eat. Head home, work away, enjoy some wine & a red box movie rental!
Pumpkins, quinoa salad & lentil burgers, O my!
“Real fresh?” Oh yes, yes, you are, Mikey!
…a great Saturday and first day of October.
A green monster served over oatmeal, a great service at church, home alone to clean/relax while the boys played paintball, a beautiful 11.22 mile run under the sun, home for a good meal with Mikey and some evening reading.
Looks gross, tastes delicious!
Dreads flying, trees overarching.
Legs moving, blurring the ground underfoot; happy to be moving!
Free time+left my watch at home=a fully enjoyed, relaxed long run.
After a delicious meal at home Mikey and I settled in to work a bit, read a bit, and relax before another busy week (mainly for him!). We have a LOT coming up this month – two “business” trips (both in Ottawa) and one for “pleasure” that’s me solo…any guesses? I’m not going to tell you – but you’ll find out towards the end of the month. Mikey’s parents return soon from life on the road in their mini motor home after being on the east coast of Canada since the end of July, so it’s about to be a full house again! We’ll likely return to the basement a a bit more and get that established as our own space, which will be great; we are so thankful to have this as our home too right now. I think we killed a few plants but things are okay for the most part around the house – we only forgot to take the trash out on the first trash day we were here without them and we have enjoyed the daily paper and going to pick up the mail. I think it’s worked out for both of us, although certainly a(nother) transition is coming for us all as we return to living in community with each other again.
Well, I just had a delicious bit of fresh, homemade brownies (made for a friend!) with some ice cream – truly, is anything much better than that?!
How was your weekend? I love hearing highlights from your days off!
Stay tuned for a special post tomorrow morning about how to craft your own total body workout – part one of two! You won’t want to miss that for all your workout needs. Or, maybe you might – you can eat the brownie/ice cream combo like me AND get your workout on, or skip over the post like it was never there and enjoy your dessert without thoughts of a workout in your mind. Your choice.
Live well & be well, friends!
