Hey guys and happy Monday! Back to the start of the week as the summer comes to a close faster than I’d like to admit here in Calgary. Although the weather’s actually been super hot and beautiful lately, I’m also feeling that chill back in the air in the early mornings, signalling the arrival of scrapers coming out for frosty windshields and no more t-shirt-only days.ย
But this weekend wasn’t about the cold…it was about the heat! The heat from love and sun – family and friend love and lots of time spent soaking up the rays. But first…a little love from my mom in the form of a care package!
a fun new dress – thanks, mom!
My sister-in-law snuck this ENTIRE box of macadamia nuts into the theatre – loved it! I brought an apple but ate my gummies instead. ๐
Breakfast on the way to camping at Little Bow Provincial Park Saturday morning: a green smoothie with lots of goodness in a nearly-empty almond butter jar…YUM!
ย
a glimpse at part of dinner – a delicious Greek salad thanks to Nicole!
ย
babies and friends and sun, oh my!
ย
campfire fun on a quiet, still evening
It was great to reconnect with friends and see people after being away and everyone being busy all summer. It was hot, there was good food (I indulged a little, but hey – it was our last summer camping trip!) and the company was wonderful. Thankful for a good community!
What did you do over the weekend? How long does summer last in your neck of the woods before the fall (read: jumps to almost winter in Calgary!) hits?
Stay tuned tomorrow for a review post...excited to share a video and some post-10 mile run thoughts from earlier this morning with you guys! Make it a great Monday! Live well & be well,
Bonnieย
I love the idea of making a green smoothie in an almost empty jar! Frozen peanut butter is so good. ๐
Glad you had such a good weekend! I got to watch my first figure comp… it made me really nervous and excited at once!
I read that on your blog! How neat to get a preview. ๐ And your cauliflower crust pizza looks amazing – gotta try that this week when I’m home early from work!
I ran half mary #7 of my 12 in 2012 and PRd! Had a movie night with the family to watch Hunger Games since it finally came out on DVD.
I would normally say we start to feel fall-ish in late Sept but with the last winter being super mild (not even 1 snow day) and this summer being unbearably hot I have no idea what to expect. I do know that I’m ready for fall, my favorite season of the year.
Congrats on half marathon #7! Huge accomplishment – and esp on PR-ing! There’s the cherry on top! ๐
I thought I was bad about sneaking in weird movie food. Bag of pop chips anyone? Too funny that she got a whole box.
Yes! Loved it. My husband and my record? A tub of ice cream w/2 spoons. Slurpees are regular sneak-in’s but our most exotic? A can of peaches with a can opener and fork. ๐
love the dress! you look adorable
Aww thanks, Lori! ๐
The weather this summer has been the best we’ve had in a very long time, hasn’t it?! So grateful we’ve been able to enjoy every last second of it… still soaking it up!
Love the dress!
We only have two seasons here…summer and winter (aka hot and dry, and hot and humid) It’s winter right now. I’m surely going to miss the Pacific Northwest fall…it’s my favorite season by far!
Enjoy the last bits of summer!
Oh yes – LOVE the Pacific Northwest for SO many reasons…fall is beautiful out there and my favorite too!
