Hard to believe another week has come and gone…and I think I’m back on the blogging train again! I love being more consistent in this little corner of the internet because it’s a place for me to get my thoughts out, to process fitness, life and nutrition, and a place for me to connect with others – it’s an online community! I’m happy to be a part of it. It’s helped me make great friends, have new experiences and be connected with incredible people/companies.
Case in point:
Remember when I posted about my piece of Momentum jewelry wrap that I loved?
Well, I left it on the side of the river before doing our ice bucket challenge and beach charge in the Kootenay River in July. Major disappointment! I made a comment about it and Momentum Jewelery sent me another, free of charge, plus a shoe charm! I just have to say, Amy (and this company) rock! No affiliation here, just a happy customer who feels bad-ass wearing these wraps while I do kettlebell swings and goblet squats. 😉
(from the end of Thursday’s workout: 10 KB swings, 10 goblet squats; 10 KB swings, 9 goblet squats; 10 KB swings, 8 goblet squats etc to 10 and 1; I used 20 KG)
I’ve been super grateful for face-to-face connections too lately and have had some great talks with friends at the gym and on the phone this week. You know what? I’m feeling thankful, I’m feeling inspired and I’m feeling like I’m ready to dream a little! I’ve been happy with my regular day-in, day-out routine and effort, and nothing is wrong with that. But I have some questions in my mind. Like:
What if I sacrificed more? In how I spend my time, specifically not pursuing myself but pursuing dreams that God is planting in me.
What if I went to bed earlier so I could arise to take hold of the day with more intention? How would a morning walk or cardio session or more time reading my Bible improve my mood and start my day?
What if I got on top of my nutrition? What if I wasn’t settled with scouring the fridge after a long day at work but made more of an effort to meal prep or ask Mikey for help during the week?
What if I called friends more regularly or wrote more letters? How would that alter my relationships?
What if used the 86,400 seconds in a day to be intentional? A decision for health (in the fullest sense of the word) in the midst of struggle, in the midst of being tired or in pain, in the midst of busy days, is a yes to being the best me possible. I want to break the status quo! My own status quo and limitations. What if I want more?
Earlier this week I wrote about going deeper into the waters with Jesus – about diving in over my head and not being content to live in ankle- and knee-deep waters with Him. I’m feeling inspired in all areas of my life right now, and though I don’t exactly know what my next step is, I want to start using those seconds more intentionally in my days. And it’s exciting! Hold me to it, friends.
Are you feeling inspired lately? By friends or family, your community or your direction in life? The above questions aren’t meant to make me (or you) feel lazy or like we’re not doing enough, or like we need to be perfect with every second in the day. Rather, they’re a written description of how I’ve been feeling lately, and I’m ready to stop thinking about it and feeling inspired and start taking some action steps. Maybe this personal trainer IS goal oriented somehow… 😉
I’d love to hear from you guys! Cheers to the weekend ahead – let’s enjoy it and live it to it’s fullest in all forms and depths of the phrase! Live well & be well,
