Hey guys! Happy (Flex) Friday!
It’s a little late for a post, and hopefully you’re either out enjoying the weekend or home relaxing already (that’s my idea of a good Friday night right there), but I’m watching the (already low) sun set from CityFit, my new employment! I am typing from here as I wait for Mikey to pick me up to go his work Christmas party and thought this would be a great opportunity to ramble a bit and share some updates!
So…CityFit. I’ve shared a few photos and videos on Instagram but haven’t said much up until this point. Since I am currently one week away from my final week at Fifth Avenue Club, I can share that I will be starting as a contractor at CityFit more full time in the new year. I was looking for a path to transition out of training at a conventional gym and was ready to work on my own again, but I’m not great with business and finance and also can’t afford to lease a space to train out of on my own. I knew I didn’t want to go back to the mobile training business because of all the car time and because Mikey needs it frequently, so I was feeling stuck. I stumbled upon CityFit when I wasn’t really looking and it seemed like a great opportunity I couldn’t pass up. The reality means going from a full-time, busy trainer, to rebuilding my clientele again in a different location; I’m leaving a great community of clients and gym members and changing to a new location and group of people, but it’s a gym for contractors designed to bring their clients to workout and the gym is top notch. It’s a big, beautiful, open building that has all-natural lighting, tons of high quality equipment and is like a playground to me! I’m looking forward to new surroundings, to growing in fresh ways as a personal trainer and to challenging my clients in new ways too – starting over with a new focus and drive with my clients one by one as we get going.
My time at FAC was wonderful; it’s hard to believe I’ve been there almost 3 years now! But it’s also exciting when change is afoot…I will miss so many faces there but am anticipating meeting new ones and getting to know new people and dig into their lives and fitness.
Also new: a custom 3 day reset kit that I’m doing from Usana! It’s another thing I’ve only alluded to on the blog but I am working as a distributor for this fine supplement company and excited to be trying more products and getting these high quality products into people’s hands for optimal health! I currently take a personalized health care pack morning and night (it comes with whatever you pick for it; I take a multivitamin, a fish oil, vitamin D and an antioxidant) and wanted to try out the customizable Reset Kit for a pre-holiday nutrition blitz. I’ve been super busy and not making enough time to eat meals and thought this would be a no-think, get-nutrition, fun thing to try before the holiday fun begins (well, besides Mikey’s aforementioned party tonight…Oh, and our one with friends Saturday night!).
I want to know what their products taste like and how my body responds to them, and I’d love to share my results with you guys too! So…I’ll keep you updated about that one.
What else? Well, my parents AND my brother are coming for Christmas, but it’s warmed up so much here and isn’t supposed to get that cold that I think we’re going to have a brown Christmas! I’m hoping for some colder weather and beautiful, white fluffy stuff for their arrival. I can’t wait for some family time on the Canadian side of the border with BOTH sets of families!
This weekend holds 2 Christmas parties (I’ve talked about those enough already), a hang out day with a favorite family of ours and some kids and skiing in the mountains with Mikey and some friends! It’s going to be a good one. My ride is almost here so I must get going! Off to a put a dress and heels on; wish me luck. 😉
Live well & be well, friends!
