Perched on a couch in our hotel room in Vegas, I’m contemplative. I spent a lot of time soaking up the rays poolside yesterday, writing in my journal and reflecting on an incredible summer gone by. I was a leader, a helper, an organizer, a guide but most of all a participant – in life, in adventure, in sharing stories, in living in community. So as I sit here with a few hours left in this city before flying back to Calgary, I feel quiet, stilled and contemplative.
I have so much to share – partly on my goals and how that turned out on this last (Grand Canyon rafting) trip, partly on the new perspective I emerged with in terms of my philosophy of training, partly on looking back over the entire epic #SummerofMikeandBon – but for now I’ll just touch base with a few photos and say hi. 🙂
It’s been an extremely full and fun summer, and it makes the fall seem exciting and fresh and the idea of routine pleasant and enticing. We’re ready for whatever life will bring in the next few months and are trusting God to guide and direct our story along the way. Life is a story and one worth living well. My hope is that you are doing so as you choose to embrace conflict, go with the flow, move forward in your life, make decisions and take action, and stay consistent, healthy and strong so you can live well physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I’ll connect with you guys more about your trips and my #SummerOfSweat goals next week! Until then, I’m doing pull ups in Vegas, stopping by the pool one more time, and am ready to head back to Calgary this afternoon!
Live well & be well,
