Subtitled: It’s Brand Time, Baby! 😉
Hey guys! Well, I’m writing to you tonight from a VERY snowy city – Calgary’s got their second dump of snow and the storm is only supposed to get worse. Time to hunker down, limit the driving, and happily watch it fall from inside our new little apartment. Still loving our living space and so grateful for it! Has winter hit where you are?
I wanted to write today and share a few reviews of 3 different products from a few companies whom I love! First up, Fila Canada, secondly Fashletics and lastly Zensah. What’s on the table today? A new pair of Dash shoes, an inspiring necklace and some new running gloves!
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post for Fila Canada or Fashletics; as an affiliate for Zensah I was recently sent the gloves free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion.
I’ve liked Fila gear for a while – ever since my mom sent me some of their sports bras and colorful workout tops – and I’ve fallen in love with their vibrancy and patterns! Their products really stand out from other more boring gym clothes and recently I learned of their great customer service and interaction with fans.
I saw a contest on their Facebook page for winning a new pair of “Pumped Up Kicks” and immediately entered. I’m on my feet all day, often train clients in the same shoes I workout in, and always find my shoes running out of steam pretty quickly. I was shocked when my entry was picked! And just last night I received the package and was thrilled with the result:
I couldn’t believe I’d won, and then I couldn’t believe how quickly I got my new shoes! I wore them to work all day today, did a short workout in them, and was very happy with the result! They’re more of a solid shoe than I’m used to as I often train/workout/run in my Vibram Five Finger shoes or other minimalist shoes, but all the same after I wore them for a few hours my feet got pretty comfortable in them. I also have no black shoes, so they look great with my training attire! Love the blue accents too:
Pumped Up Kicks?! …I think so! Thanks, Fila Canada!
Along with this batch of mail, I also received a necklace from a neat fitness-themed company I initially heard about through Janetha called Fashletics. She did a giveaway on her blog and my fingers were crossed to win, but it wasn’t in the cards for me. I rarely shop online (I know! I know!) but the products kept coming to mind over the next few months. Finally I decided to purchase a necklace I’d been thinking about for a while: a small kettle bell and charm that says “inspire.” It came in the cutest bag below (I love this logo and phrase!) and I held off on ordering a chain because I have a few kicking around my jewellery box.
I was the most excited about receiving this, so when I saw a small package I ripped it open (I see the allure of online shopping now! Something fun to look forward to) and promptly put it on my neck.
Pretty sure I won’t take it off for a while – I love it. 😀
I wasn’t sure if the word “inspire” was too arrogant for someone to wear (thinking others might assume I think I’m inspiring), but that’s what I want to do! I want to inspire others to live a healthier, stronger, fitter and fuller life, hence my blog name, “Life to the Full.” It comes from my source of inspiration, Jesus, when he said in John 10:10 that “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy but I came that you might have life to the full!” I love that idea, and as far as I’ve looked and from what I’ve experienced, Jesus is the only one who provides that full life. I wrote about inspiring others and needing to challenge myself in order to do so – I need to be walking and talking what I believe! – so this necklace is a reminder of all those things.
And onto Zensah. It’s wintertime here (we discussed this already, yes?) and I pulled my Smart Touch Running Gloves off my hands after walking home in the snow from the gym today. I was excited when I was asked to review these because I only had one glove leftover from last season’s winter running days and I knew it would soon be time to bust them out.
The product is meant to keep your fingers warm while still being able to use your iPod or phone as so many people use such technology while running. Makes sense! Here are some of the features from their website before I share my personal thoughts:
– Smart touch technology on fingers and thumb allow you to use touch screen devices without removing the gloves
– Reflective stripes for increased visibility
– 4-way proprietary stretch Zensah fabric for ultra-breathability and comfort
– Innovative silicon gripping on the palm of each glove
– Micro suede thumb to wipe nose
I’ve run in these gloves once and worn them to work many times over already.
Based on those experiences, here are my thoughts:

I’m curious to know from you year-round runners out there:
And that takes us to the end of the week! Just some fun products, great companies and reviews I thought I’d share with you guys. Have a GREAT start to your weekend and remember to live well & be well!
