…and so will I be! This month is going to be a doozy travel-wise, which I always look forward to (especially when work is slow; no real movement on that front). Mikey and I will be going to Ottawa to speak at the Share Conference as some of their “key-SHARE-ers” and then later will be attending the YACC conference in the same city. In between those trips I’m taking a rather unexpected jaunt somewhere (a real blessing of a trip – but I’m going to keep you guys hanging on that one!) so we’re about to launch into a full-blown busy time! To prepare for that change, here are some of the things I’m doing:
- Trying to connect with friends. I saw our friend Nicole this afternoon and hung out with her baby Slippery Pete while she packed for their little guy’s first airplane ride tomorrow!
- Hydrating! …for no real reason other than it’s good to do. As I always say, “hydrate or die!” You know what helps? Finally receiving the package I won from Melody full of a water bottle + 2 new flavors of nuun (“optimal hydration,” baby)! Thanks, Melody!
- Running. I know it’s always harder to run on the roads, especially in new-to-me areas, so I’ve been making myself get outside as the weather cools for some good runs. This morning, I almost beat the rain and enjoyed a speedy 8 miles under brooding but fresh-feeling skies down in Fish Creek Park. Perfect.
Baking. Why? I’m not sure…I keep making things to give to people and then not connecting with them and eating them myself. I successfully gave away some “healthy” brownies (I modify everything; sometimes it turns out, sometimes it doesn’t!) and some baked oatmeal with bananas and blueberries from our breakfast that cooked while I ran this a.m.
And…not a whole lot else! I need to work on my talk for the conference, keep cleaning the house in manageable chunks at a time, and seeking clients, but with us being gone so much this month my goal is to be up and running more so in November and to work on getting another part-time job. I have gotten some stellar workouts in, however, including a GREAT new kettlebell workout I’ll be posting (possibly tomorrow as Part II of making your own total-body workouts! Did you see Part I yet?) and filming a small segment for Lindsay. If you’re looking for a great back and biceps workout, check out her Tuesday Trainer post today!
Any good workouts to share? Fun fall foods you’ve baked? Or changes you’re getting ready for this October? I’d love to hear about them! Until then, have a great day and I’ll catch you guys on the flip side! Off to deliver an apple loaf to a friend. See you tomorrow with a great workout! Live well & be well – make small steps to really live that out!
