Another week begins, another nation of half ecstatic and half dejected people out there – the Monday after SuperBowl. 😉 Did you guys watch? I went to a friend’s house for a game of touch football in the snow for a few hours before heading inside to warm up and watch the game.
It was great movement, great company, great cheering (both sides represented in the house) and great fun! The rest of the weekend included a cheap movie date with some friends (“FoxCatcher…” Good but I had no idea what it was about and was unprepared for it! A little slow but an interesting story of people’s true lives nonetheless), a great sermon at church, connecting briefly with Mikey’s parents and a fun workout at my friends’ studio!
This morning I have a workout to share with you – it’s a bring-your-TRX-to-the-track or use it indoors kind of workout that highlights cardio and muscular endurance. You end up with 1.25 miles run (more if you warm up and cool down with running) and 500 reps! I based this workout off of Jen’s 500 Rep Running Workout (thanks for the inspiration!) but with the TRX found you’re able to keep it bodyweight but highlight other muscles that are harder to work without any equipment (like the back).
Refer to the video for movement references and note that all exercises are 10 reps per side except for the burpees so that we’re even-ing out those muscles on both sides of the body! 😉 Modify as needed with any part of the workout and let me know if you give it a whirl!
Other weekend highlights include: winter’s back. From bright and sunny and no snow to, well, cold and the snow’s back! That’s Calgary for ya!
I found my FAVORITE bag of licorice that, in basically 8 years in Canada, I’ve NEVER found here! So, so happy!
And I had my first acupuncture appointment! A super interesting experience…more on that later this week!
Have you ever done acu? Any highlights from your weekend to share? Live well & be well, friends!
