It has been an absolutely BEAUTIFUL fall here in Calgary – no complaints about the weather one bit! It’s been so nice that I’ve gotten out early for some runs, taken clients out for their workouts (some of my favorites kind of training sessions!) and have been enjoying my walks to the C-train and to work. Some neat news?
Yep! We’re moving out! This is a pretty big deal for Mikey and I after so many ups and downs, unexpected life changes, work changes and plans that we never could have anticipated. We more or less are taking a leap and renting a place closer to downtown to mine and Mikey’s work as well as his classes. It’s a one block away from the train so commuting is fast and easy; has tons of character (definitely not modern) and is on the top (third) floor with a lot of space and windows for good light; and we found it right after praying about it with our small group! Checked it out today and thought on it as the day went on…and then signed the lease! One year on the edge of downtown – life is about to get different in many neat and new ways (quickly too – first week of October and we’re in!).
So…cheers to something different!
Also something different for you on this Friday? How about a one move, one piece of equipment, total body workout? Oh yeah – we could all use that on a Friday. 😉
Other articles/posts/thoughts you might find interesting as I have over the past week:
- Marianne‘s honest post about her weight gain + a fabulous KB workout!
- Naomi‘s knowledge-filled post about ab exercises – 8 plank variations that I will be adding to my workouts!
- I loved this post chronicling the “search for the mannimal” from my favorite Bay Area runner. It’s a must read for locals (all the points he describes are so familiar to me!) and a fun post about a long run.
- This quote, which I found on Lindsay‘s blog (that I’m loving!) in this insightful post (and so appropriate with the weekend coming up):
On that note, what are your weekends like? Do you rest or workout? Have active days or lazy ones? A bit of both? And what about your nurtrition: do you have “cheat meals” or “cheat days” or do you keep things clean? I’m aware that usually there’s more activity happening with friends on the weekends and I’m more lax with my diet, although keenly aware of it. Not this weekend! We’re home, we’re studying, we’re packing (ahh! Can’t believe it!) and I’m eating CLEAN! I have enough treats, whether clean or not, throughout the week that I don’t need to go nuts on the weekend anyways. I kind of like the challenge to eat clean and keep moving throughout the weekends – makes Monday not seem so hard in many ways!
That’s about all I have for you guys on this Friday – have a happy and healthy weekend, friends! As always, I love hearing from you and sure appreciate your support and involvement in my life through the blog – lots of Friday love to YOU GUYS!
Live well & be well,
