Hey everyone, and Happy Monday! Guess what happened to me today? My morning tweet says it all:
Yep – it was that kind of morning. But you know what? It’s now 9 pm, I’ve had 7 clients today, driving to said clients’ homes in a complete (and cold!) blizzard, and backed two batches of gluten-free, “healthy” cookies – and I’m still going strong! Well, maybe not strong (nothing in me felt up to my burpee-push up-row-squat clean workout that I had planned for myself today!), but I’m still awake. But yesterday I had some workout energy! I took advantage of “warmer” weather and went for a long run. My goal? 8 miles. My total? A snowy, beautiful 9.32 mile run.
It was a good run! Unfortunately, all I could think of afterward was a hot shower, and I stayed in the warmth too long and didn’t refuel soon enough. As soon as I was out and in warm, dry clothes, it hit me – nausea, shaky hands, and apparently looking quite pale. I had to skip the steak dinner that my mother-in-law planned and only managed to get down half a banana (which came back up later). But the next day (after an obviously not-so-hot sleep!) I was fine. I was glad to get the run in, but learned my lesson about getting food in me soon after a long run.
Any weekend highlights for you guys? And did your Monday morning start off any smoother than mine did? 😉 I’d love to hear about it! Besides my run, my fun event of the weekend was curling!
We had a great night and enjoyed curling with a great group of friends. There’s nothing like embracing this Scottish (and Canadian!) sport (even if, ahem, you don’t know what you’re doing).
Let’s make it a great week – even if you’re not sure what you’re doing or the direction you’re headed in life right now. Just like curling with friends, the chance is that you’re not the only one who doesn’t know what they’re doing. 😉 Live well and be well, friends!
BTW: My friend from CA, Jess, just started a blog about cooking! Check it out and say hi. 🙂
