If we were to meet at a coffee shop for a coffee date, I’d suggest one that’s heavy on the atmosphere and local flavor rather than a big box coffee shop. I’d say I’d go early to grab the comfy chairs but the reality is that you’d beat me there and I’d text on the way, apologizing for being late again. I’d hem and haw at all the options but in the end would undoubtedly go with a black americano, small, with 2 shots of espresso and suggest splitting a baked good “just because you only live once!”
I’d ask you about your life, want to hear how your family is and work’s going, what kind of fitness you’re digging and how you’re training at the gym, how church has been lately. And then I’d share a few things:
I’d tell you that it’s been a great week back to work after the Grand Canyon adventure. Sure, it’s been tiring and I’ve caught myself daydreaming about the huge waves and wonderful people, but I’ve been so busy with clients that I’ve had no option but to snap right back into the swing of things. Sometimes that’s good.
I’d say speaking of which, want to see a quick video Mikey through together (he’d say not one of his best, I’d argue that it’s awesome he took the time to put some clips together while he was back at work too!) of our trip?
I’d tell you that I had my once-a-year dread maintenance appointment this week and am pretty happy with the clean locks as a result – tidied up and happy to get it in!
I’d share about how it’s been hard for me to get back into strength training workouts and runs this week with my busy schedule and tired body, but how I’ve been working on cleaning up my eats and even squeezed in a pre-work 4.5 miler yesterday and a 3 miler at the gym the day before! Felt proud of these little steps to get back into the groove.
I’d smile when you ask about Mikey, saying that things are great and I am so thankful for the role I get to play as his wife in life. That adventuring with him is one of the best things ever, and that I’m so glad I have a partner to take pictures with. 😉
I’d tell you that while I love burpees (and have you done my challenge yet?!) I really do love to jump.
I’d also remind you that I love going to see movies (and have you seen Batman yet? Would you like to go with me?!) and saw The Bourne Legacy with my sister- and brother-in-law and Mikey on Friday night – lots of fun although not the best of them all. Still so great to go out and see a flick!
And I’d say that I’m ready for a low-key weekend – ready to get some laundry done, not go anywhere (wait, aren’t we going camping?!), and enjoy the sunshine in a relaxed, chill way. Oh – but then there’s the upcoming Survive & Thrive Sailing Expedition and a quick trip to California to celebrate my cousin Becky’s wedding! Can’t wait for that. 😀
I’d tell you that it’s been great to catch up – sorry for my absence! 😉 Have a great weekend, everyone! Live well & be well,
