(Hopefully that title kind of makes sense by the end of the post…Creativity is at a low toward the end of the week!)
Yesterday was, for some reason, a tough day for me. Truth be told, it always makes it better knowing Friday is right around the corner, even if it’s a long work day. So whatever week you’ve had, let’s all do greet this Friday with a Friday thug pose:
Ahhh…doesn’t that feel better? 😉
Perhaps I was feeling the sorrow of others (we are called to mourn with others as they mourn and rejoice we others as they rejoice)… Perhaps it was just a rough day… Many client cancels and I spent most of my day sitting around waiting for the next person. Some days are like that and things really ebb and flow in the fitness industry. I did manage to get some good blog reading done (not many program plans or “get ahead” work for me to do today!) and enjoyed a staff meeting and chatting with the girls around the office as usual. I also really enjoyed all the clients that I had today, ranging from my 68 year old, new-to-fitness man down to my 19 year old massage therapy student female trainee. I also managed to use some of the cancels to get a good workout in, one that I’m committing to do weekly and continue to try to beat my time and maintain better form. I found the workout via GPP Fitness and it’s called “Lemon’s Revenge.” Here’s what you do:
For more details and video links on how to do this treadmill + strength workout, check out the link above on GPP’s website. I did this workout last week in 27:32 (with the 15 lbs) and finished today in 24:58 (same weight and both times include breaks – just kept the clock rolling!). I struggle with the 15 lbs and could do it easier with 12.5 lbs but am hoping to see progress not only in my time but also in the ease of using that 15 lb weight. Whew! Something to work on once a week! (And while there are no kettle bells in the above workout, the photo you see if me today after “Lemon’s Revenge” doing my 50 KB swings and 50 burpees – still keeping up with those daily!)
The day got better (and a workout always helps, am I right?!) with some quiet time at home. I enjoyed a twitter chat with FitFluential and Reebok that inspired me and also listened to and watched an online concert by Justin McRoberts, one of my favorite artists who’s also from my hometown in the Bay Area!
I snapped a bit of video of the event – you should have seen me smiling in my own living room so much! Enjoy a taste of JMcR over on my Facebook page and here:
Well, this weekend holds a few moments connecting with friends, some meal prep for the week ahead (more on my new eating plan next week!) and possibly another good long – the weather’s supposed to stay pretty pleasant! Maybe skiing next weekend – that’s the hope, at least! Mikey and I are itching to get out and get some Vitamin P (powder, of course)! 😉 Although I kind of wish I was heading out on this trail, on this bike or without one, this weekend and off to explore.
What are you doing this weekend? What do you wish you were doing? Make it count and #getafterit whatever you do! Have a great one; live well & be well!
