Gooood morning and happy Tuesday to you all! How was your weekend? Mine was wonderful…but I already covered that yesterday so I’ll leave you with a few descriptive words: restful, friendship, pedicure, praising, quiet. Any words from your weekend to share?
- Eat “extra” clean. When I’m having trouble kicking my workouts up a notch, I try to focus on my eating. I can’t rely on torched calories from a workout if it’s not full-out, and therefore can’t eat whatever I want (this is a bad habit to get into anyway, but I think we all fall prey to it at times). Remember, you cannot out-train a bad diet! Don’t believe me? Check out this video (that I’ve shared before on the blog):
- Let’s Make a Deal! Yesterday on the treadmill, running inside warmly as a storm was rolling in outside the windows of the gym, I decided to run for 4 – 6 miles. I made it through 2 miles (with a towel over the screen; I didn’t want to know how far I had to go!) and took a short walk break. Then I went for two more and walked again. I knew I could have stopped there, but I told myself I could take that 5th mile slow if I went for it, taking the pressure of time off myself, and ended up running my fastest mile of the day. Give yourself 10 minutes and see how you feel; if you can’t get in the groove or feel terrible, maybe it’s time to give your body a break.
- Dance. Just dance, baby. That’s right. Sometimes I’ll get WAY int dancing…kind of like I did below while doing a BodyRock workout during which I fell apart (the dancing comes at the end; the justifying why it’s hard as I’m breathless is in the middle). 😉
Sincerely, Mike and Bonnie Lang
