Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday. I hope your day has started off on the right foot! We woke up to melting snow after an 18* C (or 64* F) yesterday…welcome to spring in Calgary! But it feels crisp and bright out and I love the fresh feeling of the day. Inside the gym it’s a little slow but people are getting in for the workouts, and I love that!
Speaking of workouts, you guys know that one of my favorite moves to incorporate into my own workouts is pull ups. I recently completed a 30 day pull up program (click for results and links to the program I used) and am thinking of starting it again to keep myself fresh (along with my marathon training; thanks for all your well-wishes and encouragement yesterday!). A friend of mine was asking me about how to go from zero to 1 body weight pull up, and I wanted to share with you some progressions to help you get those pull ups down! You, yes YOU, CAN do a pull up. It just takes patience, practice and consistency. Check out where to start in the video below:
I think this is a GREAT exercise for every person to work on. If you’re interested in giving it a shot, start with the progressions and work your way up to 5-8 reps before moving on and transitioning to your next progression. Now go get strong! 😉
Also, I wanted to share some big news that’s happening today: the debut of our first webisode of “Valleys” – our film that’s coming out every Wednesday this month on YouTube. Check out the article on the Huffington Post and embedded video here and please help us spread the word ( to watch the trailer that came out last week, click here). Thank you for your support!
