Hey everyone! And as my favorite radio show host says in his smooth-as-butter voice, “”Happy Thursday.” Along with a new workout in video form (read through to the end for that one!), here are some snapshots from my week in pros and cons form:
Pro: Fat Tuesday was great again! No pictures this week, but we listened to a great sermon about why Christian theology offers one of the most moral, intellectual, and spiritual arguments for environmentalism and caring for the earth, which extends to other people. The food was delish (chick pea curry, naan, salad, and wine) and the company delightful. Once again, I am so thankful for this Tuesday night ritual.
Con: Poor Slippery Pete (Nicole and Mook’s little baby) couldn’t get to sleep. I felt bad for Nicole popping in and out, trying to get him to go down, and he’s got a little tooth coming in – so hard to see kids teething! Glad I don’t remember going through that.

Pro: I’ve had some GREAT workouts with GREAT clients this week!
Con: I was walking to a client’s house yesterday and came around the corner on a patch of ice that had frozen over with some fresh snow on top. I slipped and looked like a cartoon character, I’m sure, legs flailing WAY up in the air, and landed just below my left hip on the meat of my leg. I almost fainted I hit so hard – lost my hearing for a bit, saw stars, had to sit down. Went inside, laughed about knowing how to “make an entrance” and trained. Whew.
Is this awkward? Yeah, kind of…and it looks worse this morning! Ouch.

Pro: The weather’s been pretty great this week. We’ve had some snow, some warmth, and today I saw, for the first time, a “-20 C” in the car, which I think is a pro and not a con because if it’s going to be winter, let’s really let it be winter…am I right?!
Con: On the thaw Tuesday I got excited to get out for a run, but the streets were super melty and I splashed around a lot. I don’t mind running on snow, or even the cold (it’s just getting out the door!), but for some reason I don’t like when my socks get splashed. Weird, I know…kind of makes me sound like a pansy.

Pro: I was able to get a lot done around the house recently, namely: Christmas decorating! I’m not sure where everything goes around the house (the in-laws come home early next week!) but I wanted to get some done before they came home. Christmas packages went out, I Christmas-fied our downstairs AND got our pull up bar set up and hung (it’s no rock rings – we love ours! – but those are in the basement surrounded by boxes = no room to pull up anywhere). Yesssss.
Con: The free time means I’m not too busy in the work department. I’m really hoping the whole New Year’s Resolution thing will help out my business as people typically hit the gym harder in January.

Pro: Yesterday, I did some baking! Fun on a cold, snowy day and good to stock up on for going to people’s homes and bringing a healthified treat.
And yes, that is my robe sleeve.
Con: Yesterday, I did some baking! Aka: Dough eating. Too much. Enough said.

Pro: This weekend’s going to be fun! We’ve got a brunch + Christmas movies + group nap with Fat Tuesday and other friends Saturday at our buddy’s house, skiing on Sunday with another group of friends, and then to the Christmas play with Heather, Roger, and Shawna on Sunday night. Wow – we go from little social events to a weekend full of them! Lots to look forward to.
Con: First day of skiing? Better rest up the day before…which means no (strength training) workout Saturday. My legs are going to feel it, without a doubt! But this one turns into a pro, because it leads to a workout I did yesterday that YOU could do today (and maybe even I’ll do it again – I loved this one)! …check it:

Remember to keep logging YOUR workouts (maybe the one above?) over on Janetha’s page for Dedicated December – she’s got some gifts to give away for you staying consistent to your workouts. That’s some good incentive right there!
Tell me some pros and cons from your week so far! And course, keep moving, eating well, and not waiting until the New Year to be your best you and start the process of a healthier lifestyle. Why wait? Only good things come from starting now and staying consistent.
Live well & be well friends!
