Welcome, November! The month where the cold settles in, snow replaces the fallen leaves, and good food and holiday spirit abounds. Although I love October (feeling the change in weather from summer, beautiful fall running, and Halloween!), November is a great month because it reminds me of football, family gatherings and tasty treats.
What do you like about November? Well, with a new month comes a good time to review October’s goals and reassess for November. So here we go!
- Embrace winter running. Wahoo! This goal was met – Iran between 20 – 30 miles each week and toughed it out even in the cold! It’s just going to keep getting colder, and the challenge greater to stick with it, and I’m ready to keep at it.
- Maintain my weight. So far, so good. This is a goal that moves through October into the rest of the holiday season; with traveling and good food and family gettogethers, it’s going to be a great goal to keep in the forefront of my brain!
- Find a yoga studio/class to take once a week. Well, I definitely didn’t reach this goal once a week. However, I did get a small step closer towards it – Mikey and I each got 20 passes to a yoga studio in the south near our house! Truth is, we just haven’t been around home enough to use them yet – it’s been a super busy month. After we get home from the conference, we’re excited to get into some sort of routine with yoga – until we’re off again, that is.
Those are the main goals I had besides some lifestyle goals (skiing lots – just waiting for the snow! – eating lots of vegetables – so far so good – and working on Peacefield – we’ve had a set back and won’t be in until after Spring, so we have some time to wait it out!). I’m going to stick with these goals again for the month of November and look forward to seeing how they turn out.
What about you? Did you reach your October goals? Do you have any goals for the month of November? I’ve appreciated my friend Becca as my running accountability partner; if you want a place to check in once a month (or more than that), leave a note and we can hold each other to our goals! It’s great to have support – even if it’s the online kind. 😉
Stay tuned for my next post: how to stay fit when you’re traveling (and not on an “active vacation” like hiking the Inca Trail!) as I’m experiencing how tough it can be right now! Running (in the cold!), choosing the healthier option (most the time!) and living out in Newfoundland for the week!
Live well and be well friends,
