Don’t you love it when The Weather Network is right? Well, maybe not when it’s predicting -25C and -41C with wind chill, but definitely when it says over 0C! Such was the case yesterday, and since I had been so excited about written on the blog for accountability that I would finally get outside and run, that’s exactly what I knew I had to do, and the warm weather helped encouraged me to get my Thanksgiving Challenge done – and to enjoy it full blast!
After helping a friend move and getting some work done for clients at home, I finally decided it was time to get out and run, using the better weather as my main motivation to get outside and simply start moving. I decided to head down into the park to enjoy some wintry trail running as my daylight hours slowly slipped away from me. My goal: get in and out of the park before the sun was gone. Mission accomplished, but barely – there was ankle-deep snow on the cut-through trails I took that obviously hadn’t been stomped down yet! Although this added to the length and difficulty of my run, it also added to the winter experience – I definitely embraced winter running last night (one of my fitness goals for this winter)! 😉 I managed to make it to some clearer trails and skipped along on the pavement, glad to be moving outside, breathing in some fresh air, and listening to coyotes howl along the river as the moon slowly made it’s appearance. All in all, it was about 6.5 miles of movement, and even though this first run back in a while wasn’t all easy, it was beautiful and I’m glad I did it – I always am. 🙂
Now, it is Black Friday in the States and I couldn’t be happier I’m not shopping but am training instead! Several more clients and then it’s back home to eat smoe good lunch and work on some new training material that I will reveal on Monday – something new is on the horizon and I’m exciting about this new business adventure! Have a happy, healthy weekend all, and answer me – did you take part in the Thanksgiving Challenge? What did you do for your movement? And how will you make your weekend healthier as you enter into it? I’d love to hear what you’re doing to help yourself to a healthier YOU by january 1st. Live well and be well,
