Hey guys and happy Tuesday to you! How was your weekend? Mine was nothing short of stellar, as evidenced by this and this post. Extending anniversary celebrations into multiple days = a win in my book.
It was great to get back into routine Monday after the different weekend (hotels, tents in the snow, back to my own bed!) and I started the day out with a few good workouts slapped together. I always have fun planning which workout I’m going to do and enjoy the process of getting it done! Speaking of which, if you’re looking for some workout motivation or you lost your moo during the busyness of this season, check out my guest blog post on Janetha’s blog from yesterday evening! I really am honored to write for her because she is a fitness guru herself, a successful blogger, and a real friend who I met at the Healthy Living Summit this past summer. Thanks, Janetha!
While we were away this weekend, we stayed with a friend (hi Ashley!) and I woke up wanting to move after my third rest day that week. But I was in someone else’s home, my husband was still sleeping, and I had no equipment. What’s a girl itching to move to do?! I’ve been enjoying the BodyRock “12 Workouts of Christmas” series because they’re quick, you can mix and match them, and they’re offering additional bodyweight-only workouts. I’ve been taking snippets of them and adding on some of my own workouts, but early in the morning Saturday without internet and with morning brain going on, I remembered I had loaded a workout on my computer. #score I pulled it up and got to work, squeezing a quiet workout in the morning hours without waking anyone up, without any equipment, and finishing a tired mess. Check it out (full workout with moves explained here: Alt. Bodyweight Workout.
At-Home Bodyweight Workout
2 Squat Jumps + Tuck Jump + 2 Jump Lunges
Staggered Stance Push Ups with Knee-In
2 Mtn. Climber Lunges + Kick Up
2 Forward Frog Jumps + Push Up + 2 Back Frog Jumps
With that good workout under my belt, I was ready for the day, which, after much vacillation on the subject, included…a late start to our annual anniversary overnight ski trip! Instead of returning south to Calgary or peeling back off to Edmonton, we went west…to Jasper and the Icefields Parkway.
I could tell you all about it, but why not watch it for yourselves (I promise the music is better than in the above video)!
For the record, I didn’t grow up skiing. I don’t look as pro as my husband out there (he tears it up!). BUT he is the BEST encourager and we have a blast together.
What was your weekend like?
