Hey guys! How was your weekend? Mine was full of teaching clients, having fun with friends (2 girls’ nights in one weekend?! Not complaining!) and some Gilmore Girls. Hey, the truth is, I’m weaning of of Parenthood now that it’s done (such a great show!) and the actress who plays Sara in Parenthood is the mom in Gilmore Girls (Lorali)… Good for the soul. 🙂
I had a fun time subbing a small group and then a class at my friends’ studio Saturday morning. In the first hour we did a tough kettlebell complex, some dumbbell complexes plus a core tabata. Here’s what we did:
The second hour was a 4 round, 10 min AMRAP workout. It was great! The group is doing them every Saturday and trying to improve their rounds per circuit. It’s pretty killer when all combined! Check it out:
I also squeezed in a quick 5 miler Sunday night.
So while the movement was pretty good this weekend, my eating was all over the place! I understand these weekends happen, but often I’ll just have one evening or one day of “weekend eating” (you know what I’m talkin’ about!). It was a little overindulgent – not out with the girls but at home when I was doing things around the house! The main thing is how it makes me feel – too many dips in the almond butter jar, not enough water, etc. – just makes me feel too full and simply not well. I don’t have a scale so I’m not worried or thinking about the weight, but eating without being mindful is not worth it to me for the way it makes my body feel. So, this is just a little reminder of myself to eat to 80% fullness (not 105%) and don’t make brownies when you know you’re the only one who will eat them! 😉
So… no pictures of the girls’ nights but I so appreciated being with everyone and just connecting with the girls again – I really had a good time catching up! I really enjoyed seeing three friends (among the two groups) who were pregnant and one of my friend’s with her newborn girl, Aria – so much life to celebrate! I also hung out with another friend who is 21 weeks along and her husband – and that brings me to the big announcement today:
No – I’m not pregnant (although reading back the above that it totally seems like I was going to announce that – sorry)! My friend Joel and I are launching an 8 week bootcamp called Fitness, Food & Attitude and it’s similar to your traditional bootcamp but revisited. FFA is a bootcamp that changes lives with the support of a personal trainer (me) and nutrition coach (Joel) in a supportive community over 8 weeks. If you’re in Calgary, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 pm starting March 2 at CityFit for 45 minute total body group workouts followed by a 15 minute Q&A with myself and Joel and receive nutrition information each week!
We are super excited to launch this and can’t wait to keep developing this 8 week program! Be sure to check us out and register today – less than a month until go time!
Joel and I met when I was working at Fifth Avenue Club downtown and have since united forces to make a bootcamp that focuses not only on great workouts but on nutrition plans and mindset to create lifestyle change! We wanted to give people the tools to lose weight and create healthier lifestyle habits; having both a trainer and a nutritionist to help you see change is an added bonus. But the triple threat includes mindset work in conjunction with a supportive community, which is what sets Fitness, Food & Attitude apart. Our goal? To make life changes with the support of coaches and a community to create change – that sticks!
So…what are you waiting for?! Sign up and spread the word!
Have you ever participated in a bootcamp before? What did you wish had been done differently and what did you enjoy?
Catch you later, guys! Live well & be well,
