Hi again and happy Wednesday (as my favorite CBC “Q” host, Jian Gomeshi, would say). It’s always fun to be halfway through the work week, whether you’re a working businessman downtown, a stay-at-home mom in the suburbs, or a mobile personal trainer with many recent cancellations and more time on her plate than she knows what to do with. 😉 I wanted to share a new site, resource, and encouragement with you that I just discovered (and am a part of): Healthy Living Blogs.
This is an exciting initiative of Lindsay, an R.D. and fellow blogger over at Sound Eats. It’s a compilation of healthy living blogs from across the globe and she created it “to enhance the already tight-knit, supportive community of the healthy living blog world. An amazingly strong connection is formed when like-minded individuals come together to encourage one another, and that’s exactly what HLB is here to accomplish. Find new blogs that blow you away. Find new inspiration. Find people in your geographic area to meet and encourage and support you in real life.”
So head on over and explore the site! If you are a “healthy living blogger” (meaning you write a blog that deals with health – in any and every capacity) and want to be part of the blog listings, all you need to do is send an email with the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Email subject line: MEMBERS
- Your name (note whether you prefer to go by first name, first and last, or however you prefer to be known on the Internet)
- Your blog name and URL (begin with http:// not www.)
- Your twitter username, if you have it
- Your location (if you prefer not to disclose this information for privacy’s sake, that is completely understandable. We’ll simply include your blog listing in the a-z listing, not by location, too)
- Any specific labels (i.e. vegan, gluten-free, weight loss, running, etc.)

This makes me wonder…how would you define “healthy?” I love that “healthy” means both listening to your body and allowing for rest and baking of Cherry Banana Bread and another day running a hot and sweaty 8.3 miles in 1:04. It means enjoying life to the fullest in all senses and munching on carrots, sipping Green Monsters, and enjoying ice cream and cookies. It’s about balance. But that’s for another post altogether. 😉
