Hey guys! It’s fun to be blogging again a little more regularly – so great to chronicle life and engage with others through this medium…I’m loving it! *geeky blogger moment* What can I say? It’s fun to write and I love you guys! Reading your blogs and hearing your comments is so neat, and if there’s ever a chance to meet in person (maybe a Calgary blogger meet-up?), I’d love to make it happen – it was such a pleasure meeting Sabrina in the flesh the other week! Alright, alright – enough mushiness (I think I’m taking on Lindsay’s personality)…
Today has been a fantastic day! For a full(er) recap of what we’ve been up to, please don’t hesitate to head on over to our Wrong Way to Hope website and read my recent post. Yesterday we had a great screening at the Fredericton Arts & Learning Centre and then came back to Julie’s place to enjoy her home, cat Mook, some fireside wine, and a glorious, comfortable indoor bed!
Recent Eats: Korean/Japanese food + some wild carrot soup and a spinach salad from the farmer’s market in St. John!
We’ve been enjoying a beautiful morning at Julie’s
house lodge in the woods in Fredericton…what a relaxing, warm, and welcoming atmosphere to spend the day! The day began with a refreshing sleep-in and a wonderful breakfast, complete with candlelight and great music!
I had wanted to run this morning but felt the need to sleep in, so I listened to my body and enjoyed the beautiful (indoor!) bed. With a day absolutely free ahead of us, it suddenly dawned on me that I could have my cake and eat it too: sleep in AND get out the door for a run! That realization made my day! So I changed into my clothes and geared up for 10 easy miles in the rain. What I got instead was a beautiful run (albeit along the highway) in a continual mist with Mumford & Sons music ringing in my ears. The combination of a good night’s sleep, a full breakfast, fresh legs, and no time pressure to be back yielded 13.3 miles instead of 10 in about 1:56:30! As I was finishing the run, I had the HUGEST smile on my face…today was a run I just loved…what a gift. Afterward I enjoyed a long shower, some clean clothes, more great atmosphere, and a spinach smoothie of coconut water, a few handfuls of spinach, a banana, some plain yogurt, and several ice cubes with a scoop of PB. DELICIOUS!
I’m grateful for these layover days at such a beautiful location and we’re all embracing the chance to relax, rejuvenate, and recharge before heading to PEI over the next few days for our second to LAST screening in Charlottetown, PEI. Hard to believe we’re in the end stages of this experience…Looking forward to a birthday party at Julie’s for a friend tonight – bring on the healthy eats, a glass of wine, some celebrating friends, and another sleep in that comfy bed!
What are you up to this weekend? Anything spring-y planned, or some family fun in the weekend line-up? How about some good movement?
My mom’s in the Grand Canyon with a client (or two?) on a mini-vacation this weekend hiking away; can’t wait to hear about it when she gets back! Hope you find ways to move well, eat healthy, love others, and embrace life this weekend. Make it a good one! Catch ya on the flip side,
