Sometimes I go all day without a shower. No big deal, really, but after a hard 6 mile run, a bought of training clients, and some overheating in the kitchen making a meal, it might be a good idea to shower before the company arrives.
Although I love working out and fueling my body with healthy eats, I don’t always follow my own advice that I give to my clients. Remember, you can’t out-exercise unhealthy eating. I say “unhealthy eating” rather than “bad eating” because I really don’t believe in viewing foods as “good” and “bad;” if you eat real, wholefoods in moderation and continue to move well, you’ll be okay. That being said, when I’ve overeaten or indulged in one too many (okay, more like four too many!) sweet treats, I exercise extra-hard, even though I know that what you eat determines your weight more than how you move. Not buying it? Check out this video: the proof is in the pizza.
Sometimes I drop and do pushups in public places. I think I get this from my mom and now see that the workout-anywhere-anytime fever has spread to my dad. Places I’ve been known to push-it-up? Airports, hospital bathrooms (those babies are BIG!), parking lots, and department stores. What can I say? Exercise is my drug of choice. 😉
No matter how I eat them, I don’t like beets…or turnips. I’ve tried to embrace these vegetables, but they just don’t do anything for me. Also, I don’t believe in just one M&M or one cookie: if you’re going to indulge, go ahead and enjoy.
Be well and live well friends!
