Hey everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week so far…hard to believe how fast the days go in a week and how quickly life moves on. Just a reminder to live in the moment, be present with those around you and love others well – what else really matters?
Moving on from the love connection there, I wanted to update you with what I’ve been up to since Monday’s post (and giveaway! There’s still time to enter for a box of Simply Bars!). Over the weekend I contacted a company called Bava Juice about partnering with them to try out their 3 day cleanse. I have always wanted to try a cleanse for the ease of having juice delivered to you and to allow my body the chance to reset and rest from digestion. I was very impressed with the company; I received an email back right away saying they’d love to partner and when would I like the juice? (Three cheers for great communication and eagerness!) The fact that they are a local company and 100% raw made me want to check them out. I browsed online and found that my friend, Christa, had also tried them and liked her experience with the cleanse. I was all in! Sunday evening, 12 bottles were delivered to me and I began my cleanse excitedly on Monday morning.
The juices are split up in an easy-to-understand method: a morning, afternoon and evening juice with some nut milk at night and lemon cranberry juice to spice up water if so desired. Here’s the breakdown from their website:
Morning Juice: A proprietary Bava blend of Beets, carrots, oranges, celery, lemon, apple, parsley and lemongrass. I LOVED this one! I’ve juiced in the mornings before so I was familiar with how I would feel afterward and the taste of common morning juices: love me those juiced beets! It was refreshing and all 3 days I was able to drink the whole bottle easily in smaller glass sizes before work.
The afternoon juice consists of a proprietary Bava blend of Broccoli, parsnip, cucumber, kale, granny smith apples, asparagus, watermelon and mint. While I enjoyed my first sip of this juice, I did not like the after taste it had, which is funny considering I generally like even “earthy” tasting green drinks. I think it was the mint? Something didn’t sit right and I barely finished the first one and did not consume all of days 2 and 3’s amounts (more on this below).
Although I didn’t snap a picture of it, the evening drink was delicious as well, and it’s ingredients include: a proprietary Bava blend of grapes, cabbage, blueberries, grapefruit, papaya, pineapple, watercress and ginger. It was super refreshing, and I even attended a BBQ with healthy food and good wine and only drank my beautiful purple juice out of a wine glass! I shocked myself and my restraint, but it was filling and tasty so not too bad of a challenge.
occasional glass of wine and too many scoops of almond butter in a day. BUT, I feel good about my diet. It’s balanced, and clocking it at losing about 3 lbs in this cleanse when others lost between 6 and 13 lbs (see their testimonial page) shows me that I don’t have much to lose and am on the right track.
